PFAS in Water Lawsuits

Texas Drinking Water Contamination Lawyer

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have become an alarming public health concern in the last few years. Commonly referred to as "Forever Chemicals," PFAS are synthetic compounds that do not break down easily, causing long-lasting contamination in water, soil, and even in the human body.

As a resident of Texas, you may be unaware that PFAS chemicals might be lurking in your drinking water, putting you and your family at risk. At the Falcon Law Group, we understand the gravity of such concerns, which is why we are dedicated to representing victims of PFAS contamination in lawsuits. Se Habla Español.

Recent Lawsuit Updates

January 2024: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a Significant New Use Rule (SNUR) that increases the regulation of PFAS by preventing any company or individual from resuming to manufacture or process inactive PFAS without an official EPA review of the significant new use.

April 2024: New standards require water utility systems to submit PFAS data to the EPA. In Texas, over 420 public water systems have submitted this information. Of the 420 submitted, 113 had some level of PFAS detected in the water, including San Antonio Water System Castle Hills.

Toxic “Forever Chemicals”

The moniker “Forever Chemicals” aptly describes the nature of PFAS. Unlike other chemicals that break down over time, PFAS linger in the environment and the human body for extended periods, often for decades or longer. Once introduced into water systems, they are virtually indestructible, leading to ongoing contamination issues.

PFAS have been linked to a variety of health problems, including cancers, thyroid issues, and developmental delays in children. Due to their persistence and toxicity, legal actions against the parties responsible for PFAS contamination are on the rise.

The Prevalence of PFAS in Texas

In the state of Texas, PFAS contamination is an increasing concern. Several areas have reported unsafe levels of PFAS in their drinking water, affecting communities and neighborhoods.
